ABOUT RISE MVMT STUDIO

Rise Mvmt Studio was founded and created in May of 2022 by our Studio Owner and Director of Rise Mvmt Dance Academy, Jessenya Akerman.  Jessenya has been immersed in the world of dance since the age of two, beginning with classical American Ballet training and continuing her education through high school, where she served as Captain of the Texas City High School Stingarettes. 

After graduating at 18, she expanded her experience by performing with multiple dance companies and dedicating herself to teaching and choreography for over a decade.  Her professional journey includes teaching for Crowd Pleasers Dance Camps across Texas and serving as an instructor at the University of Texas at Austin.  She has been recognized with numerous solo and group awards at various dance competitions, showcasing her talent and commitment to the art form.

Jessenya finds true joy in watching her students grow, develop their skills, and discover their own love for dance.  Her goal is to inspire, encourage, and bring out the best in every dancer she works with here at Rise Mvmt Dance Academy.
